Czech Aeroholding Group Saving CZK 150 Million on Rent

 1/13/2012

The Czech Aeroholding Group has just completed an extensive move of more than 500 employees so that its operations are exclusively conducted in space owned by Czech Aeroholding, saving roughly CZK 150 million over the next five years. In recent months, employees have left the so-called Rodop Central Administrative Building at Prague/Ruzyne Airport, as well as two buildings in the city center which had been rented by a subsidiary of Cesky Aeroholding for office space.

In addition to savings on rent, savings will come from the creation of a holding structure for shared services (including accounting, legal services, personnel, IT, central purchasing, etc.).  These organizational units, which had been present in all subsidiaries, were joined into joint units as of 1/1/2012 and began to provide their services to the entire Group.

The consolidation process for shared services also resulted in structural modifications to the APC Building (in which CSA is headquartered), which now belongs to Czech Aeroholding. The result is approximately 1500 m² of new office space which, in addition to Czech Aeroholding management, will be used by other shared services units in the Group (e.g., legal services, communications, controlling, etc.). Total investment costs were CZK 52 million. The investment also resulted in the evaluation of the entire APC building.

Moving the CAH management offices and the organizational units indicated above will also contribute to comply with a decision by the Anti-Monopoly Office which, among other things, states that the executive management of Letiste Praha and Czech Aeroholding should not be connected in terms of personnel (which includes their work locations), so that no sharing of sensitive data occurs – so-called managerial unbundling.
